SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) Sartell Mayor Joe Perske says a special city council meeting could be held next week to approve the permits required to begin demolition of buildings on the former Verso paper mill site.
Montreal-based American Iron and Metal bought the property, with plans to demolish most of the buildings.
Perske says asbestos removal from the buildings has already begun. The demolition work is expected to take about a year to complete.
The paper mill closed following a Memorial Day 2012 explosion and fire that killed one worker and injured several others.
