ST. STEPHEN, Minn. (KNSI) - Authorities believe alcohol played a role in an ATV crash, sending one man to the hospital.

Stearns County Sherff John Sanner says deputies attempted to stop 31 year-old Brian Klein of St. Stephen for speeding, driving recklessly and driving an ATV on a county road on Sunday morning just before 1 a.m. on County Road 2 in St. Stephen.

Rerts indicate Klein immediately pulled into his driveway and drove around the back of a detatched garage.

After searching the area, deputies found Klein had driven off the side of a 5 foot-high retaining wall and was pinned underneath the vehicle.

Klein was treated at the scene and then taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital.

Authorities believe alcohol was involved and the crash remains under investigation.
