ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI ) Gathered in the under-construction atrium of SCSU's National Hockey and Event Center, the biggest names in St. Cloud State Hockey's past and present were on hand for a big announcement.

Namely, a naming.

The home of the Huskies will now be known as the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

St. Cloud State President Dr. Earl Potter said the step today was taken because Herb Brooks, in even just his one season at St. Cloud State shaped Athletics at the University.

Dan Brooks, son of Herb, said his dad saw the opportunity to build the game at St. Cloud as a challenge - and in fact was at his happiest during his time in St. Cloud.
