SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) A program is being held at Veterans Park in Sartell at 10:30 Memorial Day morning to mark the one year anniversary of the explosion and fire at the Verso paper mill.

Mayor Joe Perske will speak at the event, and former Verso employees who served in the military will be recognized.

Bells will toll at St. Francis Xavier Church at 11:17--the exact time of the explosion. Afterward, a picnic lunch will be served at Watab Creek Park--where a free will offering will be taken to cover the cost of the food.

One paper mill employee was killed and several others were injured in last year's explosion and fire. Verso announced in August that the mill would not re-open. The property has since been sold.
