BAYPORT, Minn. (AP) — Window and door maker Andersen Corporation says it plans an $18 million expansion at its Bayport plant that would create 100 jobs.

The expansion involves improving a building at its complex along the St. Croix River and purchasing new machinery. On average, the new jobs will pay $19 an hour, including benefits.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development will award Andersen $625,000 from the Minnesota Job Creation Fund if the company meets its performance goals. The fund is among $24 million in business incentives pitched by Governor Mark Dayton and approved during the 2013 legislative session.

Andersen was founded in 1903 in Hudson, Wisconsin and moved to what is now Bayport 10 years later. The company employs 9,000 people across North America.
