MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (KNSI) Amy Senser has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for the hit and run death of a man on a Minneapolis freeway exit ramp last August.
A jury convicted Senser in May of two felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide in the death of 38 year-old Thai restaurant chef Anousone Phanthavong.
Senser apologized to the Phanthavong family at her sentencing, and said she wishes she could take back what happened that night.
Prosecutors were seeking nearly five years in prison. Defense lawyers were asking for leniency, citing her community involvement and lack of criminal history.
Senser is the wife of former Minnesota Vikings player and restaurant owner Joe Senser.
