ST. PAUL, MN (KNSI) – The State of Minnesota released the first set of ratings Tuesday under a new alternative to the federal No Child Left Behind program.
127 schools statewide were recognized for their success in closing achievement gaps, and at least one area school made that list. Among the model reward schools, Richmond Elementary in the Rocori District.
Some area schools found themselves in the bottom fifteen percent of campuses, designated as "focus schools." That group included Madison and Talahi elementary schools in St. Cloud as well as Paynesville Elementary. The focus designation makes those schools eligible for additional state support.
