ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Allegiant Airlines has confirmed it will suspend air service between St. Cloud and Phoenix-Mesa later this year.
The shutdown will happen between August 14th and October 9th.
Allegiant spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler tells the St. Cloud Times the suspension is driven by the cyclical demand for leisure travel.
Allegiant began serving St. Cloud in mid-December with twice weekly flights to Arizona. During January and February, Allegiant handled more than 5,100 passenger departures and arrivals in St. Cloud.
The news comes as St. Cloud city officials continue talks with airlines about service to Chicago and Denver.
