AVON, Minn. (KNSI) The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a 17 year-old from Albany escaped injury this (Tuesday) morning when he drove his car into an electrical power pole.

It happened near the Public Landing on Lower Spunk Lake in Avon. Juvenile Miller told officers he was eastbound on County Road 54 when he fell asleep at the wheel and woke up in tIme to see the pole in front of him. He struck the pole with the front of his car.

Both air bags deployed. Miller denied transport to the hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
