ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Climate change activists are rallying in St. Paul to urge President Barack Obama to reject the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline.
The group 350 MN organized the protest Wednesday before Obama's visit to Union Depot. Activists are protesting how the upsurge in trains transporting crude oil, primarily from North Dakota, is snarling passenger train service.
The demonstrators also protested the expanded use of Canadian tar sands oil.
Organizer Kate Jacobson says the protesters want Obama to support mass transit to reduce the need for oil.
About two dozen people took part in the rally.
