ST. CLOUD, Minn (KNSI) A surprise announcement by the St. Cloud School District over the weekend. Superintendent Bruce Watkins announced Clark Field--the home of the Tech High School football team--will not be used for home games this fall.

Watkins says deteriorating conditions in team rooms, concession stands and public restrooms have made it necessary to switch Tech homes games this season to Husky Stadium at St. Cloud State. He says it's an issue of safety. Clark Field is 70 years old.

Watkins says Tech football will still use Clark Field for practices, because the game field itself is in good shape. Tech already plays its soccer and lacrosse games at Husky Stadium.
