5 arrested following standoff in Rochester

ROCHESTER, MN (AP) - Authorities say five men are in custody after a standoff in Rochester.

Police were called to a robbery at a hotel about 5 p.m. Monday. Five men believed to have been involved in the robbery had entered an apartment next to the Red Carpet Inn.

Officers say the men ignored orders to come out. By 6 p.m. the first man surrendered. Tactical officers arrived. Four men finally exited the apartment with their hands on their heads about 7:30 p.m. Within the next half-hour, a woman and two young children came out of the home.

KTTC-TV (http://bit.ly/LWdP7T) reports no shots were fired during the incident.
