ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Two people were killed and a third seriously injured when a semi crashed into the back of a taxi on St. Cloud's east side.
The Minnesota State Patrol says James Delbert Cockram, of Owatonna, was driving his semi south on Highway 10 when he rear-ended an Elite Taxi minivan that was stopped for a red light at East St. Germain Street.
The crash happened at 7:21 Saturday morning.
Killed in the crash were the driver of the taxi, 66-year-old Thomas Findlay from Sartell, and 22-year-old passenger Emily Letourneau from Big Lake.
A second passenger in the taxi, Marche Price, 24, of New Hope, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the 61-year-old driver of the semi was not injured and alcohol was not involved in the crash.
The state patrol says charges are likely against the semi driver.
The state patrol continues to investigate the crash, and says there is no indication the semi driver took any evasive action in the moments before the impact.
