(KNSI) - Work is underway on a new plaza at St. Cloud State University in honor of the school's 150-year anniversary.

Construction on Husky Plaza started this month and should be finished by the end of August.

The plaza is just north of Centennial Hall and will feature a bronze husky statue surrounded with bricks inscribed by SCSU alumni, students, parents, employees and friends.

The Alumni Association is paying for the statue and is selling the bricks to for either $150 or $300 depending on size.

The total cost for the new Husky Plaza is about $170,000.
