(KNSI) - Two farm buildings were destroyed by an early morning fire in Stearns County.
The sheriff’s office says a 40 by 80 foot shed was on fire about a mile south of Freeport around 4:45 this morning (Wednesday).
When firefighters arrived at the Joel Welle farm at 27523 365th Street, they saw the shed was fully engulfed, the building had collapsed and there were flames shooting from the roof.
Another smaller garage nearby was smoldering.
Deputies say the larger shed had been filled with hay bales, animal feed, and machinery.
The garage held tools and miscellaneous farm items.
Officials say they believe the fire was an electrical fire started by power cord plugged into a tractor in the larger shed.
The fire remains under investigation.
