The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says Morgan Hemmesch, 18, was going south on County Road 8 at around 6:10 Thursday morning when she went off the road and into a ditch, striking some trees before finally coming to a stop.

A passerby called 911 to report the accident.

The Rockville Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded and pulled Hemmesch from the SUV.

Hemmesch, from Richmond, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

She was wearing a seat belt.

The sheriff's office says the road had a coating of snow and was slippery, and the driver was in the process of negotiating a slight curve.
