(KNSI) - A guy who's been making big plays for the Tech Tigers for years is one of the finalists for the 2017 Mr. Football Award.
Brevyn Spann-Ford scored 11 touchdowns in his senior season, helping the Tigers post an impressive 8-3 record.
Two of Spann-Ford's TDs were in the final game of the season as the Tigers' comeback against Elk River in the playoffs came up just a bit short in a 14-13 loss.
He was also a force on defense, returning an interception for a touchdown in one game.
Spann-Ford has committed to the University of Minnesota.
The Mr. Football Award is sponsored by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association and the Minnesota Vikings.
It was first presented in 2004, and winners include current Viking Michael Floyd, who won the award in 2007.
The 2017 award will be presented on December 10th in Minneapolis. See the full list of finalists here.
