(KNSI) - St. Cloud will be holding the first St. Patrick's Day Parade in years on Sunday.

The parade is the brain child of a local Irish pub, the Olde Brick House, and the St. Cloud Downtown Council.

The council's Executive Director Jolene Foss talked with KNSI News while standing along the parade route.

"We think that our downtown would really love a boost here in March, it's kind-of a dreary month and so, what better than to bring people outside to celebrate our heritage, celebrate our neighbor's heritages and just enjoy each other’s company."

The parade begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17th, and will start at the River's Edge Convention Center, go down West St. Germain Street, turn left onto 7th Avenue South, left onto 1st Street South and will end at the Olde Brick House.

"You'll see some bagpipers, we're going to have some Irish wolf hounds in our parade, you'll see some music, you'll see some adventures, you'll see some great floats so, come support our downtown."

Beaver Island Brewing Company, calling all gingers to walk in parade with them.

The Olde Brick House is having family friendly games and prizes along with entertainment Saturday and Sunday.

The festivities will end on Sunday night with the Fabulous Armadillos.
