(KNSI) - The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says a motorcyclist crashed as he was fleeing from a deputy at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
The sheriff's office says a deputy responded to the Grub N Pub in Ramey at 12:42 a.m. Saturday for someone causing problems.
While en route, deputies learned that the subject had left the scene on a motorcycle.
A deputy located the motorcycle and tried to stop it. The deputy says the driver, later identifed as 27-year-old Curtis Marshik, of Little Falls, refused to stop and at one point drove straight at the deputy's squad car.
The deputy says the the motorcycle then went through some yards and proceeded west on Nature Road at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
The deputy lost sight of the motorcycle and later found it crashed about a half-mile east of Morrill on Nature Road.
The sheriff's office says Marshik was thrown from the motorcycle.
He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.
Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
