(KNSI) – A man was arrested after allegedly saying there was a bomb at the Stearns County Administrations building.
According to the sheriff’s office, at 4:21 p.m. Friday, 51-year-old Jerry Essary called the administrations building in St. Cloud and said there was a bomb in a third floor bathroom.
Police evacuated the building at 705 Courthouse Square and searched it with an explosive detection K-9 unit. No bomb or explosives were found.
During the start of the initial phone call, the Sauk Centre man was transferred to an investigator and agreed to meet him.
Essary spoke with the investigator and he was arrested on charges of felony threats of violence around 7 p.m. Friday.
He was booked in the Stearns County Jail and released pending further investigation.
