(KNSI) - The Benton County Sheriff's Office says their jail was placed on lockdown on Wednesday after a detention officer was assaulted by an inmate.
That's the same day the St. Cloud Prison went on lockdown after a corrections office was allegedly assaulted.
Benton County Sheriff Troy Heck says inmate Cody Alexander Mann punched the officer in the head and injured his shoulder.
The officer was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for evaluation.
Mann has been charged with 3rd and 4th degree assault in connection with the incident.
Mann was in jail on charges of arson after allegedly setting fire to a Pure Pleasure off of Highway 10 in St Cloud.
He was acquitted of those charges by a judge on Friday due to mental illness.
On July 23rd and 26th, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office says corrections officers were attacked and injured by inmates at the jail. Those inmates, Robert Kerrel Levell Dawson and Cornell Thomas Crider, are facing chargers.
These assaults come on the heels of the death of Corrections Officer Joseph Gomm who was killed by an inmate at the Stillwater prison on July 18th.
