Serial Burglar Sentenced, Still Faces Charges

(KNSI) - A man accused of burglarizing businesses in Central Minnesota has been sentenced for breaking into a bar in Rockville.
38-year-old Jason Edward Carson broke into Stoney’s Bar on July 22nd.
The Foley man pleaded guilty to 3rd degree burglary and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. He was given credit for 226 days served.
A charge of possession of burglary tools was dismissed.
Carson is also accused of breaking into the Foley Lumber Yard around Christmas of 2017, a Foley area home in March of 2018, Mr. Jim’s bar in Foley in June of 2018, Goodfella’s Bar and Grill in Maywood Township, the Santiago Country Store and the Route 26 Bar in Morrill Township in July 2018.
Those cases are still making their way through the courts.
Carson was convicted of 1st degree burglary in 2013 and was sentenced to six years and three months in prison.
He also has prior convictions for 3rd degree burglary in 2000, 2011 and 2013.
