(KNSI) - A semi jackknifed on a snowy Interstate 94 near Freeport on Friday as this latest spring snowstorm was ramping up.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound 94 near the New Munich exit.

The Minnesota State Patrol says approximately 10 vehicles struck the wreckage or went off the road to avoid it.

Traffic was diverted off the interstate as the crash was being cleared.

The state patrol says injuries to those involved in the crash are minor.

There was very low visibility at the time of the crash.

The state patrol says, from 12 a.m. Friday through 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, there were 320 crashes across the state, 37 of which involved injuries.

Two crashes involved serious injuries. One crash in the west metro was fatal.

There were also eight jackknifed semis and more than 400 vehicle spinouts.
