(KNSI) - A fraternity and sorority at St. Cloud State University are teaming up to raise money for a great cause.

Members of Phi Kappa Tau and Delta Zeta are holding their 17th annual Freeze-A-Thon fundraiser outside Atwood Memorial Center on the SCSU campus.

Senior Chris Manson is a Phi Kappa Tau member helping to send kids with serious illness or disabilities to summer camp through SeriousFun Children's Network.

"No additional costs to the family, they're already dealing with medical bills and stuff, they don't need more financial burdens, and it gives kids a chance to go to camp like any other kid would."

The two organizations are trying to reach their goal of $3,000.

They are at the tent with a small electric heater in shifts 24 hours a day and will be raising money through Friday at noon.

Manson says with what they go through on a daily basis these children deserve an amazing getaway.

"No matter what situation they're in they should have the same opportunities as someone else."

SeriousFun Children's Network has camps all around the world and nine in America.
