ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - St. Cloud area students blew the roof off the Paramount Theatre Thursday night in the School of Rock Concert.

The concert was the culmination of a two-week immersion into the world of rock & roll at the Wirth Center for the Performing Arts.

During the School of Rock program students learned how to 'rock out' from area musicians like Tommy and Jeff Vee and Jeff Engholm of Collective Unconscious.

On Thursday night at a packed Paramount Theatre, the students showed what they learned by rocking the plaster off the walls with songs like Surrender by Cheap Trick, Renegade by Styx and even Ghostbusters, by Ray Parker Jr.

"It feels awesome," said 13-year-old Tanner Janaszak, who played guitar on Bon Jovi's It's My Life and The Middle by Jimmy Eat World.

"Even if you mess up, everyone cheers for you, it's just great."

For the finale, all the rock students got up on stage as the instructors did a great rendition of With a Little Help From My Friends.
