(KNSI) - A power outage affected thousands of people in the St. Cloud area on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Xcel Energy, around 2:30, power was lost to more than 3,500 customers in St. Cloud and Waite Park.
The outage was caused by a down power line near Tiffany Court and 25th Street South in South St. Cloud.
Officials didn't say what caused the wire to get knocked down.
Xcel says crews were able to get power rerouted to most homes and businesses after about two hours.
Roads around the downed line were closed while crews made repairs.
