(KNSI) - A man has been charged with shooting two men who drove away and were pulled over in Downtown St. Cloud last month.
Police say Ali Ahmed Omar A/K/A “Trigger Ali” went to an apartment on the 3400 block of West St. Germain Street on April 26th, and got into an argument with a man . Witnesses say Omar and the man used to be friend.
According to the criminal complaint, at some point, the 25-year-old pulled out a handgun and fired at the man’s legs.
Investigators say after hearing the shots, another man and a 17-year-old came out of the apartment and were standing in the entryway when they say Omar fired several more shots.
The man was hit in the left leg and the teen suffered a wound to their thigh from a ricochet or a bullet that first hit a hard surface before hitting the teen.
Witnesses say after the shooting, a car picked up the St. Cloud man and he fled the scene.
Police say they found six 9mm shell casings at the scene.
After the shooting the two men got in a car and started driving to the hospital when they were pulled over by police in the 900 block of West St. Germain Street.
At the hospital, doctors learned the first man had been hit three times in the leg, once in the foot and had a bullet fragment hit his hand.
A warrant has been issued for Omar on three counts of 2nd degree assault with a weapon.
Omar is also wanted on a charge of 1st degree robbery after allegedly robbing a man in the 1500 block of 7th avenue South in St. Cloud in August of 2018.
