(KSNI) - Police are investigating after a shed burned down in Paynesville over the weekend.
The 911 call came in around 3:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon for a shed on fire at 25806 Highway 23 in Paynesville Township. The deputy dispatched to the call could see a large amount of smoke as he left Paynesville.
Upon arrival, the shed was completely engulfed. The Paynesville Fire Department arrived a short time later and extinguished the fire. The 40x60 shed and all its contents were a complete loss.
Some of the items included: 1998 Lowe 1720 boat with 90 HP Evenrude motor, 2008 Canam 800, a Polaris Sportsman 500, two ice augers, two fish houses, numerous fishing items, goose & duck decoys and miscellaneous power/hand tools. Estimated cost of the items burned was approximately $40,000.
It is believed a lawn mower used earlier in the day may have started the fire.
