(KNSI) - A woman has been charged after allegedly driving drunk and causing an injury crash in St. Cloud.
The Minnesota State Patrol says Gianna Jean Sanders was speeding while drunk on April 9th when she ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 15 and 3rd Street North.
According to the criminal complaint, the 30-year-old from St. Cloud struck an SUV that then hit another vehicle injuring both drivers.
Troopers say Sanders appeared to be drunk and attempted to suck the straw on the breathalyzer test. Investigators say she eventually gave a weak breath test of .106, the legal limit to drive is .08.
Police say Sanders was taken to St. Cloud Hospital because a passenger with her claimed she suffered a seizure after the crash.
The state patrol drafted a search warrant for a blood sample to determine her level of intoxication but she fled the waiting room before being seen by doctors.
Police say they weren’t able to find Sanders that evening and her passenger wasn’t cooperating with police.
She’s been charged with two gross misdemeanor counts of criminal vehicular operation and DWI.
A summons has been issued for her to appear in court.
