(KNSI) - MNSure open enrollment won't start until later this year, but Minnesotans who are experiencing certain life events such as losing other health coverage, getting married or having a baby can still enroll.
Insurance broker Joshua Haberman explains that after a qualifying life event, propective enrollees have 60 days in a special enrollment period so they can join for the first time, or make changes to their current plan.
If you miss the 60 day window, you have to wait until open enrollment starts again in November, but if you qualify for MinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance, you can enroll year-round.
