(KNSI) - Authorities say a man who ran from a traffic stop in St. Joseph was later found dead in a river.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a St. Joseph police officer pulled over Michael Henry on Saturday, April 28th on Leaf Road and County Road 2, just west of town.
Authorities say the 39-year-old from Richmond fled on foot and headed west.
Deputies used a drone to search for the man but he was not located.
On Wednesday, Henry's father reported his son as a missing person.
On Thursday, the search resumed and Henry's body was found submerged in the South Fork Watab River, about a quarter-mile from the traffic stop.
Authorities say it appears his body had been in the water for some time.
His body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an official determination of cause of death.
