(KNSI) - Mental health services will still be available by phone, even after a Minnesota based suicide hotline closes at the end of the month.
Earlier this week, Crisis Connections announced they don't have the money to continue providing phone based counseling, but those who need mental health help will still have access.
Crisis Connections's parent company, Canvas Health says crisis services are available across the state through the county crisis number, by phone, at 1-800-273-8255, via text messaging by texting MN to 741741 and in person.
Crisis Connections says they needed $1 million dollars to stay open and were hoping for that funding to come from the state, but the money was in a budget package vetoed by Governor Mark Dayton.
