(KNSI) - A St. Cloud man was sentenced for possessing more than a pound of cocaine.
Melvin Douglas Hill III pleaded guilty to a charge of 1st degree drug possession.
The 20-year-old has been sentenced to 90 days in jail, but instead of jail time he can serve his sentence on electronic home monitoring and with 680 hours of community service. He will be on probation for 30 years.
A charge of 1st degree drug sale was dismissed.
In June 2016, a search warrant was executed at his home at 813 7th Avenue North as part of an investigation into drug dealing in the St. Cloud area.
During the search the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force found a total of 1 ¼ pounds of cocaine in Hill’s bedroom, the kitchen and dining room.
Police also seized $1,020 in cash.
