(KNSI) - Police say a man led multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit that ended in St. Cloud after his vehicle became stuck on railroad tracks.
The Sauk Rapids Police Department says an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle traveling south on Highway 10 around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, after the vehicle was swerving and made an illegal turn.
Police say 37-year-old Ryan Richard Krueger wouldn't pull over and headed into St. Cloud near East St. Germain Street.
Officers deployed stop sticks but the Forest Lake man drove around them on Lincoln Avenue, then into a business parking lot.
Police say Krueger then drove on the railroad tracks near 4 1/2 Street Northeast, but his vehicle became stuck on the tracks.
The suspect ran on foot from the vehicle and it was struck by a northbound train.
East St. Germain was blocked by the train temporarily.
Police say he ran into a nearby residence in St. Cloud, but the owner demanded he leave.
A drone was deployed and a K9 was used to search for him.
Krueger is being held on felony fleeing in the Benton County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
The St. Cloud Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Sartell Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted Sauk Rapids Police Department in the pursuit.
