Fireworks Send People Home Happy

(KNSI) - As usual, the St. Cloud Area July 4th Fireworks did not disappoint, as crowds on both sides of the Mississippi River enjoyed a great show Wednesday night.
The crowds seemed to be a little slower in arriving this year, but both Hester and Wilson Parks were packed with people once the first fireworks entered the sky at 10 o'clock.
"Oohs" and "ahhs" could be heard coming from the crowds as the fireworks lit up the sky, especially during the finale which culminated in big cheers and applause from the crowd.
Of course, one of the most important things in ensuring a pleasurable fireworks experience is finding the perfect spot.
At around 6 p.m. or so, Gary and Linda, who came up from Fairhaven, claimed a spot at Hester Park just in front of 5th Avenue North with a perfect view of the barge holding the fireworks.
They are in their seventh year of coming to the St. Cloud Area July 4th Fireworks, and Gary says it keeps getting better and better.
"This is one of the best ones I've ever been too, absolutely, I haven't found anything like this."
The St. Cloud Area July 4th Fireworks is funded entirely through private donations.
Officials say the fireworks show needs your help to continue, and if you enjoyed this year's show, your donation will go a long way in ensuring the fireworks get off the ground again next July.
