(KNSI) – Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools has launched a new website for a community-wide discussion on upgrading the district’s buildings.
According to OneStormOneFuture.com, the district wants to ensure students are prepared for life after graduation.
The district says to do that, they to reinvest in the school’s buildings and bring them up to 21st century learning standards.
OneStormOneFuture.com will be a central hub for communications around facilities planning.
The website contains information about the planning process so far and how residents can get involved.
It will be updated regularly to reflect community input and to answer common questions.
According to the district, the One Storm One Future initiative is a result of five months of community engagement, including 30 listening sessions with parents, staff members, business owners, civic leaders and other stakeholders, an online survey, and a questionnaire sent out to more than 12,000 district residents in the Spring Newsletter.
The district emphasizes that input from all interested community members is key to a successful facilities planning process.
During a special election in May, 2018, voters rejected a $93 million building referendum to rebuild Pleaseantview Elementary, a new elementary, expand the early childhood program, make security upgrades and improve athletic fields.
