(KNSI) - You may have noticed a number of trees along Veterans Drive by Apollo High School in St. Cloud are gone.

That's because nearly 100 large pine trees were dead or dying according to the St. Cloud Area School District.

The trees were cut down over the last couple of weeks.

Spokesperson Tami Deland stated that the trees will be replaced.

She says the tree removal has been in the district’s maintenance plans for two years.

District officials didn't say how many of the trees will be replaced or what the size of the trees being planted will be.
