City Seeking Budget Input

(KNSI) - St. Cloud wants to hear from residents on how to spend their money.
The Interactive Town Hall Meeting is Monday at 4:30, before the city council's regular meeting.
Mayor Dave Kleis says the meeting is a chance for people to call, email or show up and tell the city what they think they should or shouldn't be budgeting for in 2019.
"I come from a philosophy that this is not my money, so the city needs to make sure we're good stewards of it and fiscally responsible."
Kleis says crafting the budget is the most important part of his job.
"When government is spending money and doing things it's always after the fact, this is the best time to hear from folks before we get into next year's budget."
To voice your opinion, show up to the meeting, call the Budget Suggestions Hotline at 320-650-3152 or email your comments to budget.ci.stcloud.mn.us
If you can't take part in the town hall the mayor says he will be touring neighborhoods with department heads in his Town Hall Bus all month long.
The Mayor’s Mobile Town Hall bus allows the mayor to hold meetings with people in their own neighborhoods without making them come out to a coffee house or other place where they may not fell comfortable speaking in public.
The mayor will present the budget in August and the city will adopt a budget in December.
