(KNSI) - The Great River Children’s Museum in downtown St. Cloud has picked an architectural firm and museum planners.

The board has also hired Vergeront Museum Planning of Minneapolis to assist in developing the museum’s strategic plan and programming.

The Great River Children’s Museum is planning to open in the old Liberty Savings Bank building on 7th Ave South at a future date.

JLG has worked on a number of St. Cloud related projects such as the 100,000 square foot addition to the River’s Edge Convention Center, Fifth Avenue Live and the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Clients of Jeanne Vergeront and Jim Roe, of Vergeront Museum Planning services, include the Minnesota Children’s Museum in St. Paul, Duluth Children’s Museum in Duluth, and the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota in Mankato.
