(KNSI) - A man accused of ripping off customers of his boat shop has been added to the Stearns County Most Wanted List.

Randy Alan Pierson, former owner of Avon Marine, is wanted on 15 felony counts of theft by swindle.

The Avon man was added to the most wanted list last week.

An arrest warrant was issued on October 6th for the 55-year-old when he failed to appear for a sentencing hearing.

According to court records, in August Pierson reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to 10-charges of theft by swindle with four other counts to be dismissed.

In May, Pierson pleaded guilty to one count of theft by swindle.

He was sentenced in July to 30 days in jail and given credit for five days already served.

He was also given 13 months in prison but that 13 months was stayed for ten years as long as he doesn't violate the terms of his probation.

In that case Pierson admitted to stealing a customer’s pontoon motor before putting the boat in storage and then installed it on another customer’s boat who believed they were buying a new motor.

An arrest warrant was also issued in July after he missed a court date for allegedly conning a man out of his pontoon.

Prosecutors say in April of 2014 the victim made a deal to trade a pontoon and cash for a new pontoon.

The victim was given $33,000 credit for his old pontoon and made a down payment of $15,000.

Police say the victim never received his pontoon and Pierson sold the pontoon he traded in.

The arrest warrant was quashed when he showed for sentencing on the other charge a few days later.

Pierson is accused of taking thousands of dollars in cash and property from customers starting in 2013.

Avon Marine has been closed since early 2016.
