(KNSI) - A man wanted for allegedly shooting a man in the back in St. Cloud has been arrested in Chicago.

Police say 29-year-old Robert Kerrell Levell Dawson was taken into custody around 8 on Tuesday night.

He will be extradited to Stearns County.

He's wanted on a charge of 1st degree assault with a weapon.

Police say on Saturday November 25th, Dawson and three others went to a 50-year-old man's apartment in the 400 block of 9th Avenue North.

Dawson is accused of firing several shots and shooting the victim in the lower back, then fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Police say the shooting was one of three that occurred over the Thanksgiving weekend in St. Cloud.

Dawson and others are suspected of being involved with the shootings and some robberies in the area.

Several other people have already been arrested.
