(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says the combination of low relative humidity values and windy conditions is elevating fire weather conditions in central Minnesota on Monday.

Forecasters say today’s high temperatures will be in the low 60s, with humidity about 27% around St. Cloud. Mid-level clouds could cause levels to be a bit higher. Winds will gust at about 20 miles an hour. With the drier conditions, Benton, Sherburne and Stearns Counties are all under a high fire risk. Any fire that does spark has the possibility of spreading quickly. Burning is also restricted to variance permits only.

A red flag warning is out in the state’s southwest portion.
