(KNSI) – Bri’s Lodge will hold its Evening of Hope event on April 6th at the Sartell Community Center.

Founder Tami Kruzel runs through some of the activities they have planned for the fundraiser. “Catering and bar service will be provided by Trobec’s, and we also have live music by Levi Pelzer, silent auction, and other games of chance. It’s a fun night, and it’s great to see people come out.”

The organization was started in the wake of the death of 18-year-old BriAnna Kruzel, Tami’s daughter. No cause has ever been determined.

The unexpected loss shocked her mother, Tami, who is now dedicated to helping others deal with grief. Bri’s Lodge was initially formed as “What Would Bri Do?” It supported causes that were important to her, including the Girl Scouts and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota.

It now offers companionship to help those experiencing traumatic loss. The goal is to turn it into a therapy center similar to Faith’s Lodge in western Wisconsin.

“Just to reference what Faith’s Lodge has, they have a 12,000-square-foot facility on 60 acres with eight guestrooms.”

In addition to companionship, Bri’s Lodge has teamed up with Angel Reins Stable for horse therapy. The Angel of Hope memorial near Lake Francis was put up and is maintained by the group. The group is working out of a temporary location in Waite Park until it can start a capital campaign for a permanent retreat center.
