(KNSI) – Santa changed things up for Christmas this year. Instead of shouts of ‘Ho, Ho, Ho,” you might have heard “Hot, Hot, Hot.”

St. Cloud registered record-high temperatures on both Sunday and Monday. The previous high mark for December 24th was 44 degrees, according to the National Weather Service – Twin Cities office. That was matched at midnight and surpassed before the sun came up. The airport eventually reached 52.

Christmas day was a tougher hurdle to clear. The record had been 47 degrees, and the mercury just inched over that, reaching 48 in the 3:00 p.m. hour. Temperatures fell steadily on Tuesday, retreating to the mid-30s by noon, with rain transitioning to a wintry mix.

While it wasn’t white for the holiday, it was definitely wet. The National Weather Service says St. Cloud recorded 2.37″ of rain fron December 24th through the 26th. There was also a precipitation record set on Christmas Eve as 1.47″ of rain fell Sunday, beating the record of 0.4″ set in 1920.

The monthly normal is .88″
