(KNSI) – Fifth Avenue in downtown St. Cloud has a new hangout that somehow feels like a familiar friend.

When you walk into B Social, you will see a lower level almost untouched from the spot’s days as Brick and Bourbon. Upstairs will be hard to recognize, though.

Owner Gary Sivyer says the rebrand should provide momentum for the east end of downtown. “We’ve seen a little bit of the traffic leave this area, so, kind of, open up something to bring people down to this side of town as well as a date night. Something for people in town for the convention and then something for a lot of sports teams in town, for the kiddos. Things like that.”

The second level features over 30 games that run the gamut from billiards, darts, and golf to video games, everything from arcade classics to the Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation. While in the gaming lounge, the menu transitions to ballpark fare. You can eat hot dogs and other things with your hands while being active.

Sivyer says it isn’t everything for everyone, but there is something for everyone. It’s meant to be a place you spend a lot of time without breaking the bank.

“You’re not pushed to get in, get out. We’re not trying to have it there and gouge people for money, we want people to enjoy it. If you, say, put in 20 bucks, I think it ends up being for some of the old school games 30 cents a game.”

He says it is almost like two concepts in one, with a different clientele for each level. Thursday was B Social’s first day open. Its hours are 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Monday.
