Section 8AAAAA Quarterfinals

Bemidji 49, St. Cloud Tech 47: The game followed a similar track to the regular season meeting between these squads. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead, up 21-7 at one point in the second quarter. The Lumberjacks roared back to tie it at half. The Tigers regained the momentum but allowed 22 points to Bemidji in the fourth quarter, which was just enough for the home team to avoid the upset. Tech had a game-winning field goal blocked as time expired. Max Kiffmeyer led the Tiger defense with ten tackles. Amarr Boyongo had three sacks.

Moorhead 42, Sartell 0: The Sabres kept it close, trailing just 14-0 through three quarters, but the Spud offense got on track late to pull away. Quarterback Jett Feeney had four touchdown passes, completing 23 of 32 attempts for 282 yards.

Section 8AAAA Quarterfinals

Princeton 28, Little Falls 22: The Tigers held a commanding 28-0 lead at halftime, but an experienced Flyer squad made a late upset bid, scoring 16 in the fourth quarter to tighten things up considerably. Princeton’s Eli Gibbs rushed for a pair of touchdowns. Little Falls quarterback Gavin Anderson ran and threw for a score. Princeton gets the privilege of lining up across from Becker on Saturday.

Section 6AAA Quarterfinals

Sauk Centre 52, Minnewaska 18: The Mainstreeters advance to tangle with (1) New London-Spicer.

Montevideo 40, Melrose 16

Section 5AAA Quarterfinals

Cathedral 25, Milaca 7: The Crusaders are on a heater. They’ve won four of five, with the only loss to a tough Kimball squad by a narrow 14-12 margin. They face undefeated Annandale on Saturday.

Mora 58, Apollo 40: The Eagles finish their first season in Class AAA at 1-8.

Foley 42, Pine City 0: The (2) Falcons cruise against winless Pine City. They host Mora on Saturday.

Section 5AA Quarterfinals

Royalton 20, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 7: The Royals will try to knock off the kings of 5AA, the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles, on Saturday.

Holdingford 40, Paynesville 14: Husker quarterback Drew Lange was an efficient 7-12 for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Catching the scores were Masyn Patrick and Garrett Frink. Lange also rushed for two touchdowns, leading the Huskers on the ground with 82 yards. Holdingford visits Kimball on Saturday, which will be broadcast on the KNSI Sports Network.
