(KNSI) – Minnesota drivers were caught over 20,000 times with a lead foot in July.

The month-long crackdown on speeding saw 47 participating agencies clock someone motoring at over 100 miles per hour. An individual got to 152 mph in Eden Prairie while fleeing police.

Central Minnesota saw a lot of violations, as well. The St. Cloud district of the Minnesota State Patrol wrote 1,719 tickets over 31 days, almost 250 more than the second-most active district. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was the sixth-busiest agency in Greater Minnesota with 101 citations.

Some of the most shocking stops include a driver in Crystal arrested for DWI. They had a breathalyzer test result of .25, over three times the legal limit, and the individual was clocked at 112 miles per hour. A father and son were both cited in Wadena for racing each other. They were going 72 miles per hour in a 45 zone.

The Department of Public Safety says by reducing speed, you have more control over your vehicle, and crashes you are involved in are likely to be less severe.
