(KNSI) – Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf will be on hand at next week’s Summertime by George concert.
The group hopes you will stop by with a nonperishable food item or a monetary donation that will benefit the nonprofit. The group’s booth will be at the Middle Town Market stand set up in Eastman Park next to Lake George on July 26th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The food and fund drive is part of the Open Your Heart Summer Challenge with Hunger Solutions Minnesota. The food shelf can earn up to $4,000 depending on how much it raises on its own through the rest of the month.
Officials say high inflation over the past two years has forced many people to ask for assistance with food and grocery bills for the first time. Former executive director Steve Pareja told KNSI in June that the shelf is on pace to distribute over 1.8 million pounds of food in 2023.
