(KNSI) – It might be time to switch mascots at Sartell High School, at least for the baseball team.

The Sabres are once again kings of Section 8AAAA. They were placed as a six-seed and had to be road warriors to get a third straight section crown.

Sartell scored 12 in the fifth inning last Wednesday against St. Michael-Albertville for a come-from-behind win. They then eked out a 2-1 victory last Thursday at Elk River in 11 innings. This week, the squad beat Rogers twice, including 8-3 Thursday at Springer Park in Cold Spring.

The Class AAAA state quarterfinal round is Tuesday, June 13th at CHS Field, home of the St. Paul Saints. The MSHSL lists potential game times as 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Given Sartell’s section seeding, they will most likely be a random draw for the state tournament. The bracket will be revealed this weekend.
