(KNSI) – A former St. Cloud Rox infielder debuted under the bright lights of PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

Michael Busch went one-for-three Tuesday night with an RBI and a walk to help the Los Angeles Dodgers pick up an 8-7 road victory. He was slotted into the lineup as the designated hitter.

Busch was an integral part of the Rox Northwoods League Championship squad in 2017. He hit .290 in 45 games with plenty of extra-base power while calling Joe Faber Field home. Two years later he was the 31st overall pick in the MLB draft.

Busch earned a call-up by mashing at the organization’s Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City early in the 2023 season. He was hitting .337 with 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored in under a month of play.

Busch is the 35th former Rox player to reach The Show.
